Unfortunately, they became frustrated with the results. Their patchwork of store bought shelving took on the appearance of a wooden quilt. Needless to say, this wooden quilt quickly became an eyesore. It was not a noble way way to display their esteemed items.
The home owners live in a classic old-style home. The shelving they purchased at chain stores and other furniture outlets just didn't fit in with the rest of their home decor. Frustrated, they sought out a professional and experienced contractor.
Shelving Solution
In order to unweave the client's patchwork of furniture pieces, we met the client in their home and worked out a solution. The solution was a custom built bookcase and hutch.
By creating a custom design, we were able to match other details in their classic-style home. We incorporated details from their existing cabinetry and trim. Then to truly match the client's classic-style decor, an experienced painter was brought in. The painter used multiple layers of different colors giving the bookcase and hutch a "distressed" look.
